Put the engine's no. 1 piston on compression stroke-remove the distributor cap-ignition rotor should be pointing to no. 1 cap tower if not its out of time-Unbolt distributor, lift it up making sure it disengaged the cam gear-hold rotor to point to the no.1 cap tower and set Dist. Down-then tighten it if its aligned-
