Check gauge light

I just had my transmission rebuilt on a 1996 s-10 chevy blazer. It has 115,000 miles with the vortex. When ever I am at a full stop my oil pressure gage goes in to the danger zone. Once I begin driving again the light goes off and my oil pressure goes back up top 40. I have plenty of oil and it was recently changed. Could this just be a sensor?

One way to tell for sure, remove the sending unit and attach a test gauge, check readings.
