98 Blazer LS, miles: 133000, V6 4.3L

Forgive me if this sounds ignorant: check engine light and cruise control light does not come on at all on startup on any other time. I thought check engine should come on when starting then go off if everything is okay. This doesn't happen. The creuise control works, but no light/indicator comes on while it is on. All other indicator lights seem to work. Gate Ajar lights correctly/appropriately. What can I check if anything to fix? Thanks for your help.

Could be both of the lamp are burned out or you have a ground problem. Does it starts up with no driveability problems?
