2005 Chevy Blazer 4wd system, font diff not engaging

when button for 4hi or 4low pressed, the front diff will not engage, the indicator light comes on to indicate it is on but the front diff will not lock and only rear wheels spin?

Sounds like the front actuator has a problem. There is a control solenoid that allows vacuum to it as well as a vacuum line that could be the problem. Also the actuator itself could have failed.
