2004 Chevy Blazer ignition

looks like you have to remove and replace barrel and key if you cannot get the key out somehow ..does the key still operate correctly ..just won't come out .. if so looks like the only way to get it out is to replace lock and barrel ... sometimes if you spray a little WD40 down and keep jiggling it about it will release .. but it may not work again once you have got it out and the steering will lock and you won't be able to start or drive the vehicle .. your better off keeping it in there so you can repair.. if the key is out and won't turn the ignition when you try again then the repair is much harder ..let me know if ya need more info ?

Key Cannot Be Removed in the Off Lock Position

1 Did you review the Steering Wheel and Column Description and Operation?

2 Verify that the key cannot be removed from the lock cylinder in the OFF position.

Does the lock system operate normally?

3 Inspect for incorrect, worn, or damaged key.
Is the key incorrect, worn, or damaged?

4 Inspect for a faulty lock cylinder or release button.

5 Replace the key. Refer to Key and Lock Cylinder Coding in General Information.

6 Replace the lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement.

7 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
