I'm concerned about whether or not my repari shop is telling me the truth. I took my car iinto the dealer for my normal "free" oil change. They told me it would be 40 minutes. One hour and forty minutes later they come to talk to me and tell me I need to bring my car back and repairs will take over 12 hours so they will provide a loaner car. I'm given a list of problems including that I have a cracked oil pan (2 month ago they supposed fixed a linking oil ring. I need lower ball joints, new brakes, new wipers, transmission fluid change. How come I never saw any oil leakage, car was running fine. Did they mess up when they changed my oil and break something? They have had my vehicle for 3 days and say the repairs are over $2000 but not to worry my extended warranty cover the majority and I only have to paid the $100 deductible, and $349 for the brake work. Am I being cheated.I may add that i'm a grandmother and know nothing about cars.

Sounds like a lot of additional work. I would tell them you want ALL the old parts (they are supposed to give them to you if you ask)
On the brakes if they haven't been changed yet they are probably due. Same with the trans fluid. Wiper blades only last about 6-8 months if you actually use them. I'm VERY skeptical of a cracked oil pan. Unless something happened when they were working on it they usually don't break. The lower ball joints could need replacing since the S series places a lot of weight on them. GM even revised the specifications on the test because of it.
Not sure what the "linking oil ring" is could it be a leaking oil line? Or maybe a leaking O-ring? Those happen sometimes on the Blazers.
If they actually do all the work they stated and your bill will be around 450 plus tax I'd say go ahead. That is actually a good deal for all that work. Even if you didn't need it.
