My sons 2002 Blazer I purchased for hi sfirst vehicle has suddenly had the transmission start to slip at about 30 to 40 mph. The check engine light came on about the same time as the trans slipping.

Trans fluid fine on level, no burning smell and no leaks.

Is there any electronic causes for this problem ie--a sensor ? I need to have the code scanned for the light activation.

I am hoping for alternatives for repair other than the removal and rebuild of the transmission when a sensor could be the problem I am told.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
