2002 Chevy Blazer Intermittent heat during cold weather

Checked the coolant level initially, which ws low, and topped it off. Gauge was low initially, too. After adding fluid, the temp. came up to around 180, but intermittently the vent will put out cooler than usual air. Just checked the level, there is still an adequate level. What could be the problem? Thanks.
