2002 Chevy Blazer Heat to Floor

Just recently when I turn the knob to heat the floor it turns onto the defrost vents. It doesn't matter what I turn the knob to I can't get any heat to the floor vents. Is this electronically controlled???

I have read three other blazers with the same problem also including mine. what a hastle! Has anyone gotten a real answer to this problem and how to go about fixing it?

I have the same problem but I'm dealing with other service engine light issues any help on this issue would be appreciated
