2001 Chevy Blazer replacing a trany

I would like to know if a 2002 blazer trany would work in a 2001 blazer, also i have a 1998 chevy 1500 extended cap truck 4x4, would any gm 1500 shifter cable work in my truck

The trans shouldnt be a problem. The shifter cable may work as well, you would have to look and see if they are routed the same with the same ends, but I would think that it would work.
