2001 Chevy Blazer Losing Coolant frequently

I have a question regarding my cooling system. Every few weeks my temperature gauge spikes briefly and the chek engine light comes on. The temperature will go back down but I add antifreze quite frequently. I can find no visible leaks but I can smell antifreeze in the engine compartment. Any ideas? Would this be a heater core? It does not leak in the cab. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

You will need to get a cooling system pressure test done, this will help locate the leak do this first.
