My 4x4 switch is pushed the light blinks on the desired drive high or low 4x4 . After waiting for a while the 4 wheel drive will take holt , sometimes / most it will kick out . Could this be the vaccum switch on the side of the trans.? If so where is it located? The push button switch was changed last week . The garage tested the systems on the computer at the same time with no results

It could be the vacuum switch on the top of the transfer case, or a bad vacuum hose going to the switch. Check the vacuum hoses near the transmission dipstick tube for any leaks. Sometimes they get melted from the exhaust pipe.
