the electronic shift button works on all 2h.4h.auto, 4lo. when i put it in 4 hi it works, when i put it in 2 hi it works. if i had it in 4 hi on hard surface would the tires roar?is that normal? the truck roars in all settings,auto,2 hi,4hi .so what you are telling me that the only thing that causes tire roar is a bad wheel bearing, tires are bad,or 4 wheel drive not fully disengage. so tire rods, idler arm, pitman arm,and ball joints will not cause roaring right or wrong ?what is the best way to check 4 wheel not disengageing, and how can i be sure it is a wheel bearing ?i want to find out were to begin ? thanks

Yes having the vehicle in four wheel drive while on hard surfaces will cause a roar, and is not good on the front differential. To check and see if four wheel drive is disengaging you could put it on a lift or jack all wheels up to see if they all turn. While in two wheel drive it should not roar. unevenly worn tires, hubs, front differential can cause a roar. Ball joints tie rods idler, and pitman arms will not cause a roar while driving. However they can cause tires to wear uneven. Which would create a tire roar.
