I recently have been experiencing a noise coming from my catalayc converter. Whenever my car is idling or driving at a low speed it rattles. I looked at it when car was off and when i hit it with my fist it rattled just as if my car was on. Does this mean i need to replace it or does it mean something is loose?? everything is welded so i'm not really wanting to replace it if not needed.

if it is rattling inside then you have to replace it. make sure it is not a heat shield close to it.
