I recently had to replace a heater core in my 2000 blazer. After reassembling and starting the vehicle, I noticed that the A/C compressor would spin with the serp belt and then abruptly stop every 5 seconds or so before spinning again. The A/C still works fine, but I'd like to know what is causing this. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time.

This is normal. Your A/C compressor will cycle every several seconds. It's the clutch that will engage and disengage. If it were to stay on at all times the a/c system would freeze up and then be inoperable. In other words this is good news that it even works. I wouldn't be concerened.
