Attempted to use my four wheel drive this morning in 6 inches of snow for the first time in 3 years. When I pressed the 4hi button, the light kept flashing instead of remaining steady, meaning it's not actually making the switch. Needles to say I got stuck.

Electrical or mechanical issue?

sounds electrical. you can disconnect the 4x4 module and let it sit for 30 seconds. reconnect it and see if it starts working correctly, if it does you need a new module
