1999 Chevy Blazer change in temp out side affecting proform

When the temp outside goes up the car runs better, when it is cold it will backfire, no codes. This all started after the engine was replaced, also the milage went down to 10 miles per gallon, till it warms up out side, it went back up for a short time when I had the front and rear punkins rebuilt. Reviewed all connections for the past year and replaced numerus parts < mass air flow, temp censor, tune up, etc.

Sounds like a temp sensor or something else wasnt plugged in when they did the engine. I would look and see if anything is disconnected under the hood.

Checked all connections over and over, what in this auto would let outside temp effect the engine so dramaicly?

(MAT) manifold air temp sensor, coolant temp sensor, O2 sensor if it is reading lean
