I'm a divorced female and would like to know what could be the cause of the air conditioner blowing air, it's just not cold air, and how much it usually costs (approx), so that I am prepared when I take it in to a shop. (I'll seem to know what I'm talking about.) Heat index today 105 and sweltering,
Thank you,
K

Don't know the cost it varies with locations

Is you car's air conditioner blowing warm air only and no cool air? Your A/C cooling problem could be caused by any of the following, check this guide out.

Please run down this guide and report back.

My air conditioning is not blowing out cold air. It has been gassed, but still not working. What other problems could there be?

Check the blending door, located in the air distribution ducts, it switches airflow from heater core (heat)to evaporator coil (AC)

Can you check for spark at the plugs when problem is ongoing? You can carry a spark tester in glove box, won't get hot, if spark plug wire is hot, use a glove. Take spark plug wire loose, put tester in boot, Ground tester to metal part of engine, watch for spark, engine cranking.

Sounds like the blend door is stuck. Either the actuator is bad or it is disconnected. The door directs air through either the heater core or the A/C core.

Air Conditioning problem
1999 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Automatic

Took blazer to get a/c heat fix. Heat and a/c works but some valve was turned too far and it only blows heat now. If valve is turned the other way it will only blow cold air. Need the valve turned in the middle so both heat and a/c will work, but I do not know where this valve is. He did have a long screwdriver ( about 2 feet in his hand ) when he called me in to check the heat blowing and did say he was not sure how far to turn the valve. Wrote the bill up, " a/c service set programer to heat

There are a couple of actuators on the heater/ac unit. one of them isn't working. they are either electric or vacuumif they are electric you have to check to see if they are getting powr. here is a picture that will be similar to your truck. theya re under the dash.

AC is not a "let's guess" type repair. It has to be professionally diagnosed. It requires a specific amount of charge and you can do a lot of damage and/or get hurt with a mistake.

Could be freezing up due to air and moisture in the system forming ice to block off the orifice tube.

I just replaced compressor w/clutch it ran really good for about one month. Now it has cold air for about 10 min. Then compressor shuts off and wont come back on unless car is off for a least 1 hout. If I drive for about 1 mile then stop for 15 min with car off and restart it the air wont come on it just blows hot air and wont come back on unless car sits again for at least one hour then it will stay on for 15 min and shuts down again. Any help or suggestion appreciated.
