i need to know the do and dont about changing my shocks front and back. i did it with a buddy of mine on a 94 blazer and that was a long time ago. I have a 99 blazer 2 wd 4.3.

Hello, I started cut/paste the info, but, the autozone site has step by step procedures.

You click on vehicle repair guides and follow the links.
Once you get used to surfing their site, there is a box, I believe in the upper left, (product search), you can type in, (shock absorber) click go, at the bottom of the next page, should be links for removing and installing shocks. There's a lot of info on that site, just surf around.
