Transmission problem
1998 Chevy Blazer Four Wheel Drive Automatic 200000 miles

i bought the car and 6 months later the transmission would start slipping a little going into overdrive. i put fluid in it and was driving to work and all the sudden it started making a noise like the pump was trying to eat itself and is leaking fluid from what appears to be more towards the top side of the tranny. i used to pull them and im tryin fix it myself just lookin for some guidance.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

Repairing automatic transmissions is a very specialised profession, apart from the technical knowledge required there is a lot of special tooling required, you need a spotless work shop as any dirt can undo what you have done, from what you have described there has been a serious mechanical failure with in the box, i would at this stage only drop the pan and take out the converter , look for signs of metal in the oil and pan, start her and let me know what you find.
