1998 Chevy Blazer noise when i start it

Noises problem
1998 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

it starts right up no problem it has no problems that i am awear of. recently, when i start it i hear the high pitch whinning noise that once i put it in gear it stops what is that noise.
