1998 Chevy Blazer low voltage

Had battery trouble so i replaced with a new one. The battery charge shows below the middle of the gage. Turned of vehicle and when i came back to vehile, my battery light was on and my key wasn't even in the ignition!

HI there, get the alternator tested for a fault and internal short circuits, check the charge rate.
