1998 Chevy Blazer fuel gauge

1998 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

what would cause the fuel gauge to run crazy? Also what would cause having a hard time starting in the morning? I have replaced the spark plugs and the cap and the thing that spins inside of the cap cant remember what its called sorry bout that. Thanks for your help.

The thing that spins is called the rotor (lol). Actually that is a better description than I usually get. As far as the hard start, I need you to check something. THat is the fuel pump pressure. I am not only interested in the pressure produced, but how quiclky it drops off when you shut the key. Here is a how to for checking it. LEt me know what you find. Remember, pay special attention to fuel pressure drop off. The how to provides both a video and directions.

As far as the fuel gauge, something tells me there is a problem with the rheostat (float gauge). It is part of the fuel pump. Let me know what you find with the pressure and we'll move on to this. If I'm correct, either you have a bad fuel pump (which includes the rheostat and float) or there is a leak somewhere.
