Sometimes the 4.3 engine will crank but wont fire. If I try a few more times it will start. Other times it will start immediately. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Thanks

Possible weak fuel pump. You can have your repair shop do a amp draw test on fuel pump, if it pulls less than 8 amps then the pump is weak. These engines are real finicky on how much fuel volume they get, especially on start up. Hope this helps.

I found out today the problem was a faulty ignition switch. This problem is somewhat prevalent on these vehicles. We could tell because the instrument lights would not always light up when we turned on the key. When the instrument lights turned on the car would start.

Thanks for the help.
