1998 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 70.000 miles

Today when I started my blazer the battery light came on on the dash . The car started fine and when I got home and shut it off I started it again and the light was still on. What dose this mean?

Indicates alternator problem go to Auto Zone have it checked out.
