I recently recharged my A/C in my Blazer. After doing so I noticed it was leaking antifreeze. I checked for leaks and found its source, the water pump. This is not a problem to fix. My question is, why is my oil pressure gauge jumpy? When I run at 1500 rpm it sits around 40+. But when its at idle it runs around 20. I checked for oil leaks and there arent any visible. Is it the head gasket? Just concerned since this is the first major problem I've had with this vehicle.

Actually it is normal for the pressure to drop when the RPM's do. THe pump isn't spinning as fast and the pressure will drop. Actually 20psi at an idle should be fine.

If this is something that has just started, you may have a bad oil sending unit.
