I had my air conditioner compressor replaced with a rebuilt one. It never worked right, so they replaced that one with a brand new one. Shortly after that, I noticed the sound of sloshing water coming from my dash board! I took the vehicle back and they told me my entire cooling system was "contaminated" and they needed to replace the thermostat and heater core and possibly the radiator and do a "flush" of the cooling system. They said it had nothing to do with the replacement of the air conditioner compressor and that it could have happened by mixing two different types of antifreeze. (I have not had my antifreeze refilled or changed lately.) It could be just a coincidence, but I am not entirely confident of this mechanic at this point. Can I get a second opinion? The vehicle is 10 years old, but only has 90,000 original miles! This is costing me a bundle! THANKS so much for your opinion!

Does the a/c drain water on the ground when it is working? Could be a plugged drain for the HVAC plenum. If it drains ok, the heater core may need to be backflushed, have seen it many times on S-trucks. Has any other work been done to the cooling system at all? The a/c compressor doesnt require the cooling system to be opened up.
