Recently installed an IC Dynamics remote start (following their instruction), after which the check engine light is on. Codes given are P0785 shift timing solenoid malfuntion, P1860 solenoid electrical fault, and P0740 converter clutch circuit malfuntion. Note that no wiring has been spliced or cut, this was just parralel connections to the facory harness. The remote start funtions and vehicle runs but noticed the check engine and shifting troubles.

Unplug the remote start from everything and disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset the ECM.

Test drive it.
If no problems then call IC Dynamics about it.
If the problem comes back then you really do have a tranny problem

What buddycraig advises is a good idea. I am betting you will find the problem goes away. The better remote start units actually use a special interface and module bypass box on many of the newer vehicles. Mainly because of this type of problem.

I believe the problem has been found. It is not clear in the instructions for the remote start but it needed a 2nd ignition circuit connected. This has been done and so far so good. Thanks for the input
