1997 Chevy Blazer rear hatch window wont open

1997 Chevy Blazer

The rear hatch will not open for me. The key works in it to unlock and lock all the doors but the window wont open. The bottom hatch door handle sounds like it works but it of course wont open unless the window is open. I am trying to pry off the back panel inside but I don't want to break anything while doing it. And adcive would be helpful. Thanks.
