1997 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive

The oil pressure went down real low and the check engine light came on. Could this be a bad oil pump? Or could it be a bigger issue? Could really use some advice.

Use a mechanical gauge and read the oil pressure if normal replace the oil pressure switch abnormal could be the oil pump and engine bearings
