1997 chevy blazer 4.3 4x4 was having a problem cold starting the truck It would start after a couple of cranks. Check engine light came on. I checked trouble codes came up cylinder #6 was not fireing. so i did a complete tune up with out the changing the fuel filter. The truck was running good for one week . Yesterday start the truck i here a tapping noise in engine after about a minute it went away I thought maybe it was cold drove all day it was fine. Last night go to start same tapping this time didn't go away drove around the corner felt like the car was missing came back home shut car off and now it won't start. Could it be the timing chain?

Highly unlikely, but not impossible. Have the PCM scanned for the codes (check engine light). This should help figure out why it wont start. Do oyu have spark? Fuel pressure?
