1997 Chevy Blazer compass heading

My compass direction consistently reads about 45 degrees in error, ie S reads SW, W reads NW, etc. Outside temp sensor/display works OK, just the compass is off by a quarter bubble.

You can try degausing the roof of the vehicle.
