1997 Chevy Blazer 4 wheel drive

1997 Chevy Blazer

I am looking at a 97 blazer for 1500 and I was told that when switching to 2 wheel drive from 4 wheel it makes a clunking noise. I just want to know what that could be and is it worth buying? I have a 9 month old daughter and I need a car for the winter so I need to know if this would be a good buy.

If the clunk is only as you hit the switch it's normal. What your hearing is the transfer case shifting and the front axle engaging. However if you shift it and then hear clunking while your driving it is a different thing.
