Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My 96 blazer is having a problem when you step on the gas you get nothing, if i press down lightly it will eventually gain speed but as soon as I stop I have to go thru the whole process over again and it also seems to be using a whole lot of gas

if your service engine light isn't on then get a can of choke cleaner. Spray the throttle plate on both sides as well as the IAC and TPSswitches. the IAC gets sticky with gunk as well as the throttle plate. the tps may be sticking as well causing your problem. But have your engine checked for codes also check for vacuum lines soft or with holes in them , if they leak the computer will try to richen the mixture to keep the codes off.....
