Smells problem
1996 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1996 Chevy blazer and recently I changed the catalytic converter, spark plugs & wires, distributor cap, muffler, oxygen sensors and heat sensors. My truck is still popping when I accelerate and there is a strong odor of gas. What could this be????
Please help me I am completely lost.

Hi there,

Have your injectors serviced and check for any vacuum leaks, have the exhaust checked for over lean mixture, start here.

Have you checked closely for vacuum leaks? Also, is the popping always there at an idle and as the engine revs? Is it coming from the intake or exhaust?
