Im having trouble with my 96 4.3, it seems to want to lurch while at an even speed,
like one of the plugs is only firing half the time.doesnt always happen and doesnt
seem to do it when at idle.but does have a rough idle, and seems to want to stall
and hesitate when coming to stop or take off. code reader gave me 1406,0153,1153. thought the 1406 was the egr. and the others o2, brought on by the 1406. so i did replace egr with
another, not new, but when i finished changing i tried unplugging. didnt seem to
effect idle at all. also changed plugs, wires, cap, rotor, maf sensor, and spider injector.
cant find any vacuum leaks. can anyone point me in the right direction?
please
thanks

even though you changed the egr, it could be the pintle is working slow or clogged. if you take the valve off and try to clean out the bottom of it with a pic or small screwdriver. Spray some choke cleaner or penetraiting oil in there first to soften that crap up. you might have an exaust leak, especially if you have a pipe leading to the exaust. it also says the O2 circuits are acting slow, so you if you haven't changed them, you can try a clearer. There are a couple of injector cleaners on the market that you can add to gas. there is one, I think Chevron makes it or pro something it's about $15 a bottle and from friends i've heard it cleans the O2 sensors . If it does it's an easy cheap fix. Also clean your throttle body with choke cleaner on both sides as well as the IAC hole so it gets cleaned as well. The throttle body gets a lot of recirculated oil and it gets sticky alot of times. While your there with teh choke cleaner spary the TPS switch as well as it could be sticking or slow working.
