1995 Chevy Blazer POSIBLE ENGINE REPLACEMENT

I recently purchased this truck sight unseen. Unfortunately the engine has been altered from fuel injection to carburetor. Now I can't smog the vehicle because the computer. Would it be cheaper for me to buy another engine and have it installed or another fuel injection system? If I do buy another FI then what all do I need?
And if you recommend buying another engine would a 350 bolt up to my transmission?

Is the wiring harness there for the fuel injection still? If so I would probably find the injection at a salvage yard and go that route. Installing a 350, while fun would be alot of work and require the proper injection system to be smog legal anyway, but to answer your question, yes it would bolt right up to it. If the wiring harness is missing, you may want to price that out at a salvage yard as well.

The wiring harness is still on top of the engine. When I go to the junk yard what exactly should I ask for?

You will need the complete intake manifold, injectors and all. All of the air intake tubing and thestock air box where the air cleaner goes, there is an air intake sensor on the tube. Look to see if it has the stock distributor as well, it may not if it has a carb, you will need that and the wiring from dist to ignition coil. This will be alot of little annoyances until done, but is probably the best way in thelong run
