After the 'snowpocalypse' here in pittsburgh, my blazer started doing this thing where when i turn my key would make this kind of wheezy sound, "starting" but not the engine igniting, and i'd have to start it again for it to fully 'start'. it did this for a few days and then went back to normal.

this started again a few days ago, and now i'm worried. sometimes i can get it to start first try, but my car doesn't have the same furious starting sound as it once did. i just bought a new battery for it a month ago, and am getting an oil/filter change tomorrow as i'm due for one (but i don't think that has anything to do with it). i'll probably have the mechanic there take a look at it while i'm there, but any extra advice would be wonderful.

money is super tight for me as well, so any price ranges on any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks!

Does the sound seem to be associated with the starter?
