I just replaced my front brake pads but now I noticed the driver side caliper is not releasing as fast as the right caliper and it gets hot enough to smoke with too much driving. Do I need to replace the brake cable. I know the inside of the brake line can break down, not allowing the fluid to return. Or is it something else?

It could be a couple things. To test for what you mentioned, rubber brake hose failure, remove the tire and have a helper apply the brakes. If the caliper sticks, loosten the bleeder valve to see if the pressure is released from the caliper. If it is, chances are it is the rubber hose. If it doesn't release the caliper, then it could be a sticking caliper piston or the caliper slides are sticking.

Let me know what you find. Also, make sure the vehicle is secure after lifting it to remove the tire.
