1994 Chevy Blazer rear window

i have a full size 94 chev blazer and the back window will not open, when i push the release button on the dash you can hear the electric motor activate but the locking mechanisn does not release, i cannot pull the inner panel off the tailgate to work on the motor until i get the window open, what do i do????

check the rear window release relay located behind left side of dash, above steering column.
