1992 Chevy Blazer HOW COME!!!!!!!!

Ok so i get out of the store i go to my car and we start it we heer a long beep put in gear an it dies it does it about five or six times and i step on the gas a start it and put it in gear it works i drive it home it dies in my driveway help
