1991 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I bought this blazer and the speedometer does not work, just wondering if you could give me some tips on what to check or how to fix it is a needle and not electronic thank you

Hi it is not electronic, but it has a spped sensor no cable. Where the speed cable would be on the trans there is a plug and a round sensor about two inches around held in by one 10 mm bolt remove this. There is a plastic gear on the bottom of this sensor if it is sheered off replace with same color. If not replace the speed sensor. Good luck billymac
