The problem is, the front left brakes screech even with a little push of the brakes, and the right side wont work. Supposedly this only happens when it rains or when its cold weather because it brakes fine at the moment. I have changed the pads and when I test drove the car, it did it again the first few times I brake, but then it went back to normal. Can you please help!

Sounds like a brake pad issue. Did you grind the old rotors? If it was me I always change rotors and pads at the same time and use ceramic brake pads to eliminate brake noises.

I doubt its the pads because they are brand new. And also the rotors still feel smooth. I'd be guessing if I need new calipers or a brake line. It brakes perfectly fine with the new pads. Wat I did to test it is that I hosed the front brakes and tires to wet them and the first 2-3 times i'd brake, it seems like they would lock up, or 'stick'. But after that it'll brake normal again. The mechanic I went to found nothin wrong and said 'it is just an old car'. Which I think is a total bullshit answer. I like my blazer =). Please help! Btw thanks Mastertechtim for the response.

Ok lets make sure we are on the same page. Your problem is a brake screech correct. A caliper or a brake line or hose can not cause this. Make sure the dust shield is not touching the rotor. I run into this problem a lot when using certain brake pads or just installing pads without resurfacing the rotors or replacing them. I still think your problem is the brake pads. You can purchase a good set of brake pads for about $40 and new rotors are only about 20 to 25 dollars each. I use wagner thermo quiet brake pads and that has resolved all my brake noise problems I have been having.

Well I think I explained it wrong. The brakes would lock up or stick(seems like the front left side), and my tires would screech and the whole car would slide even at 10mph. Your probably right about it not being the calipers or brake line. I might just have to resurface the rotors since I the new pads are in and take a look at the dust shield. Thanks for the help.

Ok I get it now. Your left front wheel would skid when braking and not release? Smoking wheel? See if you can pull up on the brqake pedal and if you hear a couple clicks then its possible your brake light switch was sticking causing pressure on the pedal.
