1991 Chevy Blazer No startn starter on my"91"4x4

Electrical problem
1991 Chevy Blazer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My starter groweled somewhat a few times over a 2-3 day period, then made no sound(or started the trk.),I checked the batt., cleaned wire connections,still nothing.I taped on the starter with a hammer & it worked like 2 times, But thats all, now I get nonothing again. Iv'e replaced the solonoid, and gotten a new batt..(I'ld really appreciate any advice or suggestions).

when my starter did the same thing id have to hit with a hammer so when i had it rebuilt they said it was the brushes. id suggest first checking the starter relay if alls well have the starter rebuilt or get a new one
