The gasket around my oil pan is leaking and throwing out maybe a quart of oil a week. I've never changed the oil pan gasket in a car before but from the prices I've read about I'm going to have to attempt it. I have jacks to put it up on - is that good enough? Is it as simple as taking the bolts out and dropping the pan or are there little tricks or problems I need to know about? Any help would be appreciated.

You may also need to remove the bolts from the motoer mounts to get clearance. When you do remove the pan, as you do it, sometimes it's easier to remove the pump pick up tube. Also make sure there are no hole in the pan, 89's are in the group that it's a concern!
