1988 Chevy Blazer drive line

It clunks shifting from drive to reverse and it chatters when accelerating. It looks like the drive shaft has shifted also, there is shiny metal exposed on the shaft itself. HELP, PLEASE!

are the u joints loose. Hold the yoke on the rear diff. and turn the drive shaft back and forth. See if its loose. If it is, need to replace.
