Electrical problem
1978 Chevy Blazer V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 100k+ miles

my windshield wipers come on when I turn on the ignition, I hit the wiper switch but then 20-25 seconds later they come on again, this happens over and over, I have replaced the switch twice, replaced the fuse and finally replaced the wiper motor itself but this has not fixed the problem.

Hi:
It sounds like a switch problem or a short in the steering column. You'll need to remove the steering wheel and part of the column to try and find it.

The wiper switch is not on the steering column, it is in the dash and since I have been through two switches I doubt it is a problem with the switch.

Hi:
Sorry about that, I was thinking it was a newer S10. Regardless, there has to be a short at some point. Check the wires near the firewall that run to the wiper motor.

Again, sorry about that.
