I just got a 1996 beretta with a locked up motor. It has antifreeze in the oil. It has the V6 3100 series. I have an 89' beretta with only 80,000 miles and needs a new power steering pump. It has the 6 cylinder 2.8L. Will the 89' engine bolt to the 96'? And if so would the transmissions bolt up too? And would you have to change out the computers also? The newer beretta is nice and I couldn't pass it up for 100 bucks. Greatly appreciated.

I am pretty postitve it will , although the engine sizes are different. the block is the same, thus allowing it to bolt in correctly, the trannys should be the same also, all you need to do is take a look at the bottom of the tranny.
