1992 Chevy Beretta 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Does cheverolet still make the part/clip for the passenger door inside door release handle? My inside door release handle doesn't work as it keeps coming disconnected inside the door and it appears that there should be a clip holding it to prevent that.

I don't think the part is available from GM; however, I would call a dealer and ask if they can get one or if they have any dealer old stock (DOS). They may still have some laying around.

Is it possible to remove the rod, dril a small hole in it, and place flat washer in place then place a cotterpin through the hole you drilled?

PS: You may be able to find the right clip in a salvage yard.
