I donated yesterday and will again, and I need to know what you think of jimmy-rigging wires to the engine-cooling fan. It doesn't run and I neeed to get it to rotate. If I ran two wires from the battery to the fan motor, I'd want to connect them correctly and temporarily at first to see if the fan works. One of them is black with red stripe, the other all black. One side is "A", the other "B". Which is the negative? Does it matter? I think it would. Thanks DS.

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

Jump wiring is ok to test components but it should never be relied on as a fix, the black wire will be Earth (-) the black with red will be Pos (+) if you swap them the fan will nun in reverse.

Yes fan works all right now. DIY over tyhe weekend. Frankly I did such a nice job of the rig it would be a shame to take it apart now. Engine running cool. Still in cautious shakedown-runs for now . I put a 30-amp fuse in the positive line as an on-off switch. More later. thanks: Dave.

You do see people fit up a manual switch for the fans but the only draw back is leaving them on and getting a flat battery...

Roger that, I'm very aware of the battery. Still no complications, engine running cool, alternator gauge shows high charge, strong starts. Thanks; DS...
